Dear Clients and Friends,
The current situation is giving us a pause to reflect about who we are as a small business, how Alicia Peru came to be and why we continue to do what we love! Alicia Peru is a Bellevue based local business formalized in 2008. We are a mother- daughter business that began with a combination of special event and home party retail sales. Currently, we wholesale our private label nationwide - more in the home & gift sector these days. We opened our first pop-up two doors down from our present day boutique in 2017. That positive experience gave us the courage to open our first permanent brick and mortar at 10129 Main Street, Bellevue in 2018.
We have always worked with sustainable and fair trade manufacturing practices, mainly because it is at the core of our belief in quality, non-exploitive and small batch fashion. We have worked with our Peruvian manufactures - Pia, Evalyn, Tony and Tom for years and we consider them an indispensable link of our business. Over time, these relationships extend beyond business, we know when they become grandparents, run into hardships or desire to learn a new production skillset. They are our extended Latin American family, with all the dynamics that family relations entail!
Why do we continue to do what we do? The simple answer is our people relationships. That would be you as our customers and followers. We love helping our clients walk out with a smile and the confidence to put their best foot forward in the world. We are excited to work with our Latin American manufactures and to discover other like minded brands that we purchase for boutique and online sales. Brands like Good People, Indigenous, Finley and Kuna. Lastly, on a personal note, I feel blessed to be able to build a brand that carries my mother's name, a person whom I have shared many joys and griefs - my role model and business parter.
